 Capacity Building

Teacher in front of a blackboard

Capacity includes the knowledge, organization, and resources needed to perform a function.

Capacity building focuses on strengthening the knowledge, skills, and abilities of individuals, groups, organizations, and/or systems through various processes and activities. These processes and activities better enable programs to achieve higher performance in tasks related to attaining their specific goals and objectives.

In addition to developing and implementing strategies for enhanced performance, capacity building should include processes for tracking and adapting capacity and performance needs to continue to meet the demands of HIV/AIDS programs.

You are welcome to submit information related to capacity building for inclusion on this site. We will gladly review your submission and add all relevant resources.

Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, Assessment (MESA) online program, M.Ed
The Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics and Assessment (MESA) online program will be available starting Fall 2009. The M.Ed. in MESA online program provides rigorous training in quantitative and qualitative methodologies and addresses the current industry-wide shortage of individuals capable of functioning effectively in educational research and other social science research settings. The M.Ed. in MESA online program is designed for several student populations: students who want to acquire the knowledge and technical skills needed for entry-level positions in academic institutions, state and federal agencies, school districts, and the testing and evaluation industry (e.g., licensure and certification boards, private and not-for-profit testing organizations); students who eventually wish to pursue doctoral studies in a MESA area; and Ph.D. students in education and other fields who want to increase their research skills and enhance their career opportunities by simultaneously enrolling in the M.Ed. in MESA online program.
