The individual must have a Ph.D. in a social science or public health discipline that included direct research and statistical experience. Must also have experience designing program evaluations and be functional in a data analysis program such as SPSS. Experience working with the Military and resiliency training are both a plus (Master’s-level candidates with extensive experience in one of these areas may also be considered). Must be able to understand resilience research and be able to translate that knowledge into training as well as conducting program evaluation.

The Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research of Cornell University (www.bctr.cornell.edu) is conducting a search for the position of Director of Research and Evaluation. We are interested in an individual who can help the center develop its research infrastructure and consult with center projects, while also pursuing an independent program of research. The position holds the academic title of Senior Research Associate. The BCTR is a newly created center that resulted from the merger of two established centers in the College of Human Ecology and includes research, training, and outreach projects, with the training and outreach projects conducting evaluation activities specific to their programs.
The Director of Research & Evaluation will work closely with the BCTR Director and will serve as a member of the BCTR leadership team. The Director of Research & Evaluation will contribute to the growth and development of the research and evaluation capacities of the center, including building a strong data management infrastructure. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining the center's data management system; supervising data management and data analysis staff; providing research and evaluation consultation to projects within the BCTR; collaborating with BCTR senior staff and affiliates on research proposal development (research design, sampling, power analysis, data analysis); developing standardized approaches to data collection and data management; supporting training and professional development of center staff; and providing support and consultation to center partners and affiliates.
